LaRae) “I am off to get my oxygen facial,” I announced to everyone at work. Which generated responses from my witty co-workers such as, “Are they just gonna turn a fan on you”, or “Isn’t your face surrounded by oxygen?” Alright, I admit it….I had no clue what it meant. All I knew is that I had been told that it would be my absolute favorite facial! One wise co-worker informed me that it is what all the “stars” do before they walk the red carpet. She informed me that it doesn’t leave marks and makes their faces look youthful and rejuvenated. She also confessed her jealousy. If it’s good enough for the red carpet, then it is good enough for me.
An oxygen facial delivers a mixture of hyperbaric oxygen, or pure oxygen at a high pressure, and anti-aging serum through an airbrush to the face and body. It’s almost as though someone is using a tiny power washer to pump oxygen and moisturizer into the skin. People who use oxygen facials say the process helps makeup application because it gives the skin a smooth and moisturized surface.
When I walked into Amara and checked in at the front desk….the ooohhh’s and ahhhhh’s began. The girls were excited for me. They gushed about how the oxygen facial is one of their favorites. There is absolutely no pain involved. There is no “giant fan” pointed on you, as suggested by a co-worker. There is only complete comfort, relaxation, and pure oxygen. Listen to me…..EVERY woman deserves to have her face feel this good. It just felt right. I do have to confess though……next time I get an oxygen facial I am making Chris take me somewhere nice for dinner. Or better yet…..put a red carpet out and have my boys with cameras lined along the carpet to take my picture and act like my own personal paparazzi. Yep, that’s the only thing that would make this better.
