Michelle Owen-Client Reception

Amara is excited to welcome Michelle as the newest addition to the Amara Family. She is the youngest of 5 siblings, born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Always active in sports and music particularly soccer and piano. After graduating high school she moved away from home to attend BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. Initial plans of becoming a registered dietician changed drastically after one semester in the program as her passion for music pulled her in another direction. She changed her major and graduated with a degree in Piano Pedagogy. Since then she has been teaching piano for over 20 years touching the lives of others with music. As music is, and will always be, one of her greatest passions she continues to teach, but has decided to expand her horizons some and try new experiences.

“I first came to Amara as a client 3 years ago, and was instantly hooked.” Said Michelle. “I am excited to work in the industry and look forward to assisting our guests with all their medical spa needs.”

Michelle is married with 4 children and moved her family to St. George, from Farmington, UT in 2002 due to her husbands employment. She is a self proclaimed ‘sunshine girl’ and instantly fell in love with this area. (Readily confesses she doesn’t miss the snow of Canada or Northern Utah one bit!) She divides most of her time supporting her children in their sports and music activities. In addition you can find Michelle enjoying fitness activities, interior design, playing the piano (of course) and possibly curled up with a good book.

Deanna Nielson – Reception

“Amara has been a great place to work!”

Deanna is the 2 of 4 in her family. Born in Sandy, Utah, she has lived in the little towns of Redmond, Utah and Boise, Idaho but her family eventually settled in Kanab, Utah. She attended UVU, SUU and DSU. She was planning on Dental Hygiene, but eventually chose Math as her major. In 1990, she moved to St George and became an Orthodontic Assistant and later the Lab Tech, building and designing retainers.

Deanna is an extremely quick study and took to Amara, like a fish to water. She is positive and attentive and takes great care of our clients. She brings a strong work-ethic, proven track record for performance, a solid medical background and has an affinity for details, which we are grateful to add to the Amara team.
Deanna is married, has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. She and her family love to travel. She enjoys waterskiing, boating, hiking as well as playing the piano, baking, scrapbooks, and sewing. Her favorite past-time is when spent with her husband, children and grandchildren.

Paula Temple-Administrative Support

“It is such a beautiful thing to open Amara’s front door each

morning and walk into a place filled with bright smiles, infectious

laughter, and HUGE hearts.”

Paula brings a wealth of experience to the Amara team and maintains a high work ethic, experience in pharmaceuticals, contagious positive attitude and extreme intelligence.  Paula is indirectly involved in the training of personnel, current spa offerings, operations and community outreach.

Paula grew up in St. George and attended school at Dixie State College, Southern Utah University and earned a Graduate Degree from Utah State University.  Boasting a passion for education she then taught community college mathematics at Dixie State College for ten years before moving to Arizona to pursue a PhD at Arizona State University (which she has not yet completed, but the idea is still in her “bucket”).

Paula spent 12 years in Arizona, falling in love with the beautiful landscape and unique culture of the state; and the man of her dreams in the process.  She shared her career history there working in both the pharmaceutical industry and higher education.  Paula worked with MERCK pharmaceuticals for six years and spent an additional six years teaching mathematics at Scottsdale Community College.

Paula moved back to St. George in 2012 to be near her family and found a whole new world and experience here waiting for her.  “I can only attribute fate to crossing paths with Amara.”  In her spare time she is a passionate hiker.  Her biggest claim to fame is conquering the towering peaks of Colorado, the inspiring glaciers of Whistler, the beautiful red rocks of Sedona and Zion and the natural wonder of the Grand Canyon…all with her very best friend by her side every step of the way, her husband.  Together they also adore traveling, frequently choosing Arizona to visit family and friends.  Paula regularly immerses herself in the practice and education of yoga (ZACI Yogabarre), admires many musical genres, likes to dance and will grab a good read on occasion. Family and friends remain at the core and are Paula’s most favorite pastime.

Donna Childs-Marketing & PR Specialist

“Spahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,  doesn’t the word itself inspire pure relaxation?”

We are pleased to welcome Donna to the Amara team. Acting in the Marketing and Public Relations role, she is very excited to design and integrate new marketing strategies to ignite the brands social ecosystem, increase brand engagements across multiple channels, as well as empower consumer evangelists, create affinity and build community involvement.

“One of the reasons I adore marketing so much…every single day I get to ‘story-tell’ about what makes the people that surround me so amazing and inspiring!”

Donna brings an excellent knowledge of business to the table, high integrity, a contagious attitude and insight into what it takes to bring a business to the next level. She prides herself in becoming the primary steward of Amara’s continuing evolution through effective results-oriented advertising, public relations and marketing. All this designed to meet our objectives of providing strong marketing concepts that educate the community on the standard of excellence that we embody and promoting our staffs’ commitment to an unparalleled customer experience.

This beautiful state beckoned Donna from a young age and stole her away from her deeply rooted California ancestry. A self-acclaimed ‘Sun-Worshiper’ she has encountered the harmful effects of the sun and discovered Amara in her quest to turn-back time and reverse the evidence of her many years enjoying carefree tanning, non-sunblock wearing outdoor adventures and multiple summer days of lake splendor. She boasts a new lease on protecting her skin (which we half-way believe) that includes a promise to wear sunblock with a minimum of 15 SPF, baby steps! She has three beautiful children she adores that are swiftly moving from adolescence into adulthood who each possess the ability to teach and inspire her daily. They along with her trusted circle of friends keep her young, full of zest for life and always looking for the next adventure. Her favorite quote: “Today is a gift…open it!”
